2025 residency

TIDAL Art Centre

Lund, British Columbia — 2025

During my residency at the Tidal Art Centre in Lund, British Columbia, I developed a new series: an installation entitled Sorority.

Assembled from individual clay pieces, this project explores the ways in which women support one another, help each other rise, and grow stronger together. The work evokes this collective, quiet yet powerful force that makes us taller and stronger as a whole.

My practice is inspired by the human experience: each individual is unique, and it is from these singularities that I compose forms, objects, and installations.

The setting of the residency, surrounded by the majestic trees of British Columbia and nourished by the energy of the Salish Sea, was essential to the creation of this work. I produced a large number of elements in the studio that was made available to me, then arranged them into an installation celebrating connection, solidarity, and interdependence.

Every evening, I would ride my bike to Divers Rock to swim, a renewing ritual that supported my creative process and encouraged encounters with the warm and welcoming residents of the village. These conditions — the landscape, the sea, the community, and the studio — made this residency a meaningful and successful experience.
